  • Total number of videos created: More than 1,400 video projects

  • completed from January 2000 through end of June 2014 at Scott & White Healthcare.

  • Updated and implemented a new protocol and process for the production of Physician Biography and Physician Specialty videos. This has generated more than 220 pieces which were promoted to audiences as special series both within and outside Baylor Scott & White.

  • Created the first branding procedures for Scott & White logo inclusion in videos.

  • Revamped the Internal Patient Channel with new content to be more strategic and to help the institution advance its Mission, Vision, Values, and Goals.

  • Worked in collaboration with the hospital library to create the first system of archiving videos to preserve historical record of significant events, developments and institutional achievements.

  •  Implemented process of developing videos for use across internet and social media platforms to further marketing department goals.

 

SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Expert ability to find and tell stories as producer and director of video productions, including managing teams and coordinating audio and lighting in-studio and in the field.

  • Used linear and non-linear editing equipment and software to produce professional-quality videos for a variety of audiences and age groups of various ethnicities, backgrounds and of both genders.

  • Managed video production teams, including directors, writers, videographers, transcriptionists and editors, juggle multiple projects and deadlines with skill and experienced judgment.

EXPERIENCE

COMMUNICATION SPECIALIST, VIDEO TEAM LEADER: BAYLOR SCOTT & WHITE HEALTH
January 2000 – End of June 2014

  • Planned and produced video projects servicing all Scott & White geographical areas, every hospital and clinic throughout a 27,000 square mile service area. Produced projects for system-wide leadership and all departments.

  • Produced pain management videos for Quality/Patient Safety.

  • Produced a compelling video on Scott & White’s 100th kidney transplant procedure. B-roll from this event was used to secure media coverage of the surgeons’ accomplishments across the Central Texas, Dallas and Bryan/College Station television news markets.

  • Supported Baylor Scott & White’s Corporate Communications to inform and engage staff by producing videos of Joel Allison and Bob Pryor’s Town Hall meetings, the opening of McLane Children’s Specialty Clinic, groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings from Temple, Belton, Killeen, College Station, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Marble Falls and others.

  • Served system leadership by shooting video at town hall meetings, board of director candidate interviews, Committee for Strategic Advancement meetings, and countless other needs.

  • Development of videos for physicians to be used at national international conferences, such as a piece on Dr. Bob Shull’s pelvic floor reconstruction surgery used within both presentations domestic and abroad.

  • Produced videos to help patient acquisition, education, retention and safety. These pieces are also very instrumental in achieving Baylor Scott & White hospital readmission reduction goals.

  • Led and delivered more than 1,400 professional-quality video productions which helped the institution achieve its mission, vision and strategic marketing goals. This was accomplished through seamless media and physician relations, superior personnel management, and superb promotion of doctor specialties, hospital growth, unique medical cases and general public health education.

 

BELL COUNTY BUREAU NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER: KWTX-TV, CBS CH. 10
January 1987 – January 2000

  • Led the top market news station’s Bell County photography efforts to stay two steps ahead of competing media, while delivering valuable daily information to Central Texas residents.

  • Served not only as a photographer and video editor, but exceeded job description duties and expectations regularly by initiating and completing duties within the roles of on-the-scene reporter and field producer.

  • Prominent stories for which video was used in worldwide news coverage during service including: Luby’s Massacre: Killeen, 1991; Branch Davidian Standoff: Waco, 1992; Jarrell Tornado: Jarrell, 1997.

 

NEWS PHOTOGRAPHER, KWTX-TV, CBS CH. 10
January 1987 – July 1987

  •  Contributed as an active team member to the storytelling and photography craftsmanship, which has maintained KWTX-TVs reputation and viewership as first in the Central Texas market for more than 20 years.

  • Learned through hands-on video, audio production and still-photography classes, challenging students to take charge of their own learning and proficiency in the crafts.

  • Earned credentials and skills which produced inroads to job opportunities across journalistic, corporate, non-profit and freelance areas.
